For the money you can't do better August 24, 2010 TR (Newport Beach, CA USA) I'm using this monitor to view the output of a security camera inside my house. It's very simple and does the job. My only complaint was that it doesn't come with a power converter for AC to DC and that I can't seem to get the built-in speaker to work.
Great little monitor for the price. December 28, 2009 Nelson (Indiana) It's nice to see these little monitors improved since the same ones I used 3 or 4 years ago.
The color accuracy isn't all that great, but for the dough, these are really handy for a number of video monitoring needs.
The remote allows for direct control of various settings without having to go into a menu and there's good options for tweaking color, contrast, and brightness.

Like it so much, bought 3 more!!! December 22, 2009 Bruce A. Ades (Carrollton, TX United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Compact, feature rich, bright screen. A great bargain when other screens are 2x or more the price. Had not heard of the Pyle brand before, so took a chance. Outstanding customer service. Top notch packaging and exccellent fit / finish.
Great monitor, NO AUDIO!!! August 27, 2009 Earthman 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Pyle makes great monitors. What the PLHR79 and their other monitors gives the user in video quality for the size can't be beat for the price.
I purchased two of the PLHR79 units through amazon.com because the description included the comment "AV Input."
The unit has two Video Inputs, but NO AUDIO INPUT.
I imagine the PLHR79 would be great for a video only security camera input or for a back-up monitor for a Motor Coach or a Bus.
Craftsmanship is high as is all of the Pyle units I've seen. With my hobbies I've decided to keep the two PLHR79 units.
For my original needs I ended up purchasing two Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV units with AV inputs. The added bonus is that the HLT71 is also a TV with an ATSC tuner. :)
Nothing bad to say about the Pyle monitor, it's the listed specs that were incorrect.
good enough display, like the stand, could have better image August 28, 2008 S. Ng-Evans (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Good enough display.
I like the stand.
The image could be a little better and it cut off the top half of the characters at the top of the display when I used it with a DVR/multiplexer (this displays the date/time and HDD space on the top of the screen).
